Widow Winifred Watkins Marries
The widow of William Watkins, Winifred, married James Jones on February 23, 1795. The record state that James Jones gave up the rights to the property left to Winifred by William for 250 £. The property reverted to her son Thomas Watkins. This is recorded in Halifax County, VA D.B. 18, and pg. 203.
Thomas Watkins Purchases Land
On Mary 27, 1799 Thomas Watkins, Jr. came to an agreement with James LeGrand. The agreement was for 320 acres of land on the South side of the Dan River, at the Reddy Bottom, joining James Coleman's land.
Thomas Marries Rebecca Vaughn
Thomas Watkins married his first wife, Rebecca Vaughn around 1807. Rebecca was the mother of all his five children.

Rebecca died in 1835. Thomas remarried on January 19, 1836, to Catherine Jenkins, in Halifax Co., VA. The Bondsman was John G. Mills. Witnesses were John G. Mills and Mary A. Morang.
