The Hilton Austin Airport Hotel, located on the grounds of the Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), opened in early 2001. It is a member of the Hilton Family of Brands and participates in the Hilton Honors program. The hotel is 2 minutes away from the passenger terminal with free airport shuttle. The Hilton Austin Airport is two miles east of the intersection of Highway 183 and 71 and minutes away from I-35 and Mopac Expressway. We are located just moments from downtown Austin including the Convention Center - State Capitol - and 6th Street Entertainment District as well as University of Texas. The hotel is conveniently located for a visit to many area corporations like International Sematech, Tokyo Electron, AMD, ERCOT, Computer Science Corporation, Motorola/Freescale and Computer Associates. Shopping is also nearby at Barton Creek Square or Highland Mall. The Hilton Austin Airport is a historical hotel previously utilized as the United States Air Force building and served as the strategic air command center during the Vietnam War, Persian Gulf War and Desert Storm. The unique architecture has permitted the hotel to previously be termed the ''donut'' due to the completely round shape of the facility with it being open to a lovely atrium in the center.
