• Asheboro NC Zoo - 4 hours from Asheville located near Mocksville North Carolina, the Asheboro Zoo is a Natural Habitat Zoo.
• Knoxville Zoo - Knoxville, Tennessee- About an hour and a half from Asheville North Carolina via I-40. Baby animals born recently to the Zoo's white rhino Polly is a female named Sweet Potato. Among the animals at the zoo are Black bears, chimpanzees, lions, tigers and more.
