Easy Stuffing Recipes: Oysters - Cornbread for: Turkey - Chicken - Stuffed Pork Chops

Southern Country Cooking Recipes Quick and Easy Recipes Stuffing

Cornbread stuffing

My boyfriend loves to cook. He always fixes this stuffing recipe for the holidays. You can stuff this in the bird or prepare without the bird. If you choose to stuff the bird always remember to bake immediately after stuffing. In addition, always remove stuffing after baking. Dressing can spoil very fast. For safety, never keep dressing more than one day and always keep refrigerated

Gene's Oyster Stuffing Recipe

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 package of bread crumbs for dressing (not stove top dressing)
  • 1 small can of oysters (chopped and drained) reserve liquid.
  • 1 clove of garlic (crushed)
  • 1 sweet onion (chopped)
  • 1/2 stick of butter or margarine

To Prepare Recipe: Melt butter in pan. Fry onions and garlic in butter until onions are transparent. Open package of breadcrumbs and place in a bowl large enough to accommodate it. Add melted butter, fried onions and garlic. Stir in oysters. Add enough liquid to moisten crumbs. If needed, add 1/2 stick more of butter. You can stuff the turkey with this and bake, being careful to remove all the dressing from the bird after cooking and slicing, or you can bake it in a pan for 15 to 30 minutes, until the top is brown and toasty looking.
