I like rum drinks the best so that is what there is more of these recipes than any other. Rum cocktails are made best with fruit juice mixes like a Mai Tai or a Bahama Mama. Its also good in coke cola with a twist of lime juice. The best rum to make cocktail drinks with is Bacardi's. If you want a potent drink, use the 150 proof. However, you can't drink too much because it will make you drunk fast. Remember to drink responsibly.
A screwdriver is made from Vodka and orange juice. But, I've used rum with orange juice and it makes a pretty good drink. Whiskey isn't too bad with orange juice either. A bloody Mary is made from Vodka and tomato juice.
Rum is good with fruit too. cut a whole pineapple, watermelon or coconut. If you choose coconut, drain the milk off. Anyway, hollow out a small cavity in the fruit, then pour a large jigger of rum into fruit. Let it sit for several hours, then serve. Or cut up fruit and put into a large punch bowl, then pour a bottle of rum over the fruit. Let it sit a few hours in the refrigerator. Then eat the fruit. This is a excellent party dish.

Pina Colada frozen drinks
In a blender container combined crushed pineapple and cream of coconut. Blend until smooth. In bowl combine pineapple mix, pineapple juice and rum. Stir. Place in a container. Freeze.
Take out 1 1/2 hours before serving and place in a serving bowl.
Rum Punch
makes 75 glasses
Mix together 1 1/2 cups lemon juice, 1 1/2 cups grapefruit juice, 5 cups orange juice, 6 cups unsweetened pineapple juice, 8 cups water, 1 cup sugar syrup and 3 bottles of rum. Let stand at least 1 hour to blend. Pour over ice in a punch bowl.
Regent Punch
makes 40 glasses
Mix 1 quart of rye whiskey, 1 quart of rum, 1 quart strong tea, the juice of 6 lemons, juice of 6 oranges and 1 pound of sugar. When ready to serve, pour over ice in a punch bowl and add 1 quart of champagne and 1 quart of soda water.
Rum and Coke
combine the juice of 1 lime, one large jigger of rum and a cola with ice cubes. Stir and serve
Maple rum
In a glass, combine 1 lemon, 1 tablespoon of real maple syrup, 1 jigger of rum and 2 dashes of grenadine. fill glass with finely crushed ice and add a slice of pineapple and an orange.
Hot buttered rum
In a cup, combine 1 teaspoon powder sugar, 1/4 cup boiling water, 1/4 cup of rum and 1 tablespoon butter. Fill cup with boiling water. stir well and sprinkle with nutmeg before serving.
Daiquiri
combine two 6 oz. cans thawed frozen limeade concentrate, one 6 oz. can thawed frozen lemonade concentrate, one 6 oz. can thawed frozen orange juice concentrate, one bottle of rum, and 4 cups carbonated water. Optional: Add canned pineapple slices to mixture. Serves 30.
Tom Collins
1 tablespoon of Sugar syrup, juice of a lemon, 2 jiggers of gin. fill glass with carbonated water, stir and serve.
Hot Toddy
In a mug, combine 1 teaspoon of sugar syrup, 1 stick of cinnamon, 1 jigger of either whisky, rum or brandy with 1 cup of hot water. garnish with a slice of lemon.
Tonic
In a glass, pour 1 large jigger of gin or vodka over ice cubes, add quinine water, lemon or lime juice to taste.
Champagne Punch
Combine two 12 oz. cans of pineapple juice, one 6 oz. can frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed, one 6 oz. can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed and 4 cups water. chill. Put in Punch bowl and add 2 4/5 quart bottled of chilled champagne. Stir. Add orange slices. Makes 40 servings
Hot Cranberry Punch
In a large pot, mix two 48 oz. bottles of cranberry juice cocktail, 1 cup brown sugar, 4 inch sticks of cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice and bring to a boil. Simmer for 15 minutes. Add 2 cups brandy and 1 cup bourbon. Serve hot in mugs.
Pecan Whiskey Cake
Butter 3 small loaf pans. Set oven to 250 degrees
Separate 6 eggs. Beat the whites until they stand in soft peaks. Beat in 1 cup sugar. Without washing beater, beat the yolks until think. Cream 3/4 pound of butter. Gradually, beat in 1 cup flour, 2 pounds of pecans, 1 1/2 pounds raisins. sift together 2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1 teaspoon of nutmeg. Add to the butter mixture. Add 1 cup of whiskey. Stir in the floured nuts and raisins. fold in the whites. Fill the pans. Bake for 2 hours.
