Scones Lamb Stew

Irish Corned Beef Brisket and Cabbage Recipe


  • 2 lbs of corned beef brisket
  • 8 small potatoes quartered
  • 1 head of green cabbage cut into wedges
  • 1 onion cut up
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 4 cups of water

To prepare: combine water, vinegar, sugar, pepper and onion in a crockpot. Stir. Add potatoes and meat. Cover and cook 4 hours. Remove lid and add cabbage. cover and cook 3-4 hours more. Serve.

Scone Recipe

Scones are good for breakfast and go well with a cup of coffee or tea.


  • 4 cup flour
  • lb. butter.
  • cup sugar
  • cup raisins
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cup milk
  • pinch of salt

To Prepare: Mix all ingredients until well blended. Place in bread pan and bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes. Best when served hot from the oven. Serves 12.

Irish Lamb Stew

serve 4


  • 1 cup shredded green cabbage
  • 1 cup sliced carrots
  • 1 1/2 cups cubed potatoes
  • 1 3/4 cups beef stock
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3/4 cups beer
  • 3/4 lb. boneless lamb shoulder cut up
  • 1/2 onion chopped
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon olive oil

To Prepare: Saute onion in olive oil till golden brown. Add lamb, stir until browned. Add beer and pepper. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 30 minutes. Stir in beef stock. Add potatoes and carrots, cover and simmer until vegetables are tender. Add cabbage. Cook an additional 3 minutes. Cabbage will turn a bright green when done.
