Sweet and Sour Chicken Wings

The chicken wing meat is tender. Its the best part of the chicken although there is only a very small amount of meat on the wing. Chicken wings make a great appetizer. They are served at tail gating parties. People like to eat these tidbits while watching TV.

Warning: Always Make sure Chicken is done before you eat it. Juices will run clear, meat will be white to the bone. No pink or red. Raw chicken or chicken not cooked properly can be deadly.

Don't think chicken wings are a low in calories because its chicken. To the contrary, Chicken wings are very high in calories because the chicken wing is mostly skin. They should be eaten in moderation if you want to keep trim. This is a Chinese wing recipe. So its sweet and sour.

Chinese Chicken Wing Recipe

Ingredients

  •   cup honey
  •   cup soy sauce
  •   3 tablespoons brown sugar
  •   1 teaspoon minced garlic
  •   cup ketchup
  •   2-3 lb. Chicken wings disjointed
  •   salt and pepper to taste
  •   Creole seasoning to taste

To Prepare Recipe: Combine honey, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic and ketchup. Place wings in shallow baking dish. Add Creole seasoning, Salt and pepper to taste. Pour honey sauce over chicken and bake uncovered at 400 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes. Check and baste chicken several times during baking.

Sweet and Sour Chicken Wing Recipe

  • 3 -4 lbs of chicken wings
  • Flour
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. curry powder
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup catsup
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • enough oil to cover pan

Mix sugar, vinegar, catsup, soy sauce and salt together. Set aside.

Separate the wings at the joints and discard the tips. Season flour with salt, pepper and curry powder. Roll wings in seasoned flour. brown on both sides in oil for 7 minutes.

Remove from heat and put in a 9x13 pan. Pour mixture over the chicken and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, turning pieces to coat.
