Sour Cream Chocolate Icing

One Pan Chocolate Cake

This cake is wonderful. The sour cream makes it moist and rich. Its a simple recipe you make from scratch using unsweetened chocolate bars. Chocolate Cake is an indulgence. I love my chocolate. It addicting you know or so they say. Enjoy!

Sour Cream Chocolate Cake Recipe

ingredients

  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup diary sour cream
  • ¼ cup shortening
  • ¼ teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 oz unsweetened chocolate melted (cooled)
  • 3 8-inch layer pans or 2 9-inch layer pans

    To Prepare Recipe: Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour pans. Mix all Recipe Ingredients in a large mixing bowl for ½ minutes on low speed, blending well. Beat at 3 minutes on high. Pour into pans. Bake for 40 .45 minutes.

    Sour Cream Chocolate icing

    • 1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
    • 3 ounces melted Chocolate, Unsweetened (cooled)
    • 3 cups confectioners sugar
    • ½ cup dairy sour cream
    • 2 teaspoon vanilla

To Prepare Recipe: Mix butter and chocolate together thoroughly. Blend in sugar. Stir in sour cream and vanilla. Beat until smooth and of spreading consistency.

No Mess Chocolate Cake

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 6 tbsp. oil
  • 1 tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup water

Sift dry ingredients together. Put in ungreased 10 inch cake pan. Make 3 holes in flour mixture. Into one hole put oil, into one put vinegar and into the other put vanilla. Pour water over all and mix with a fork. Don't beat.

Bake at 350 degrees till done. Frost.
