Cerebral Palsy: More Causes Risk Factors: Picture of Infant with Cerebral Palsy

Naudikah's blog - day to day journal of a child with cerebral palsy.

Here I am as an infant at 2 months, I was getting out of the hospital weighing 5 lbs.

picture of cerebral palsy infantI was tiny but I sure could get everyone's attention in a hurry. The nurses were right there every time I needed something! Boy, was I uncomfortable most of the time due to all those tubes and wires stuck in me. When I was a month old, I had to have a blood transfusion. I saw my Mama everyday and this really made me feel better. She'd come and stay with me all night when she could. I was fed through a tube to my belly for a little while. Sure was glad when I started to take a bottle. Mom could hold me longer when I started taking the bottle. Oh did I mention Dad was at the delivery too but I didn't see him much at all after that. Everyone I know calls him a deadbeat dad. Whatever that means.

The doctors say the reason I have cerebral palsy is that at sometime either during my stay inside of mama or during the voyage to the outside world, my brain was deprived of oxygen.

Premature birth is a risk factor of Cerebral Palsy.
