In winter the gray whales migrate down the California coast from Alaska. The Humpback and Blue Whales migrate from July to Sept. Whale watching is popular at many of the bluffs, cliffs, overlooks, beaches,  etc along the Coastline.

  • Patrick's Point State Park
  • Humboldt Lagoons State Park
  • Big Lagoon County Park
  • Agate Beach
  • Bodega Bay, near Sonoma Coast State Park is a Good place to Whale Watch from Dec - April. It is located near the Sonoma Coast State Beach.
  • Fort Bragg Whale Watching festival takes place the 3rd weekend of March.
  • Mendocino
  • Trinidad
  • The King Range - 4000 ft high cliffs overlooking the sea is considered the best areas for Gray Whale watching from November to May.
