As everyone on the east coast knows, it snowed Friday. Asheville got about 2 feet of snow. Over 60,000 plus homes are without power. Many of the secondary roads still have snow on them. However, the main roads are clear. Most people in Asheville and elsewhere stocked up on groceries. Everytime the weatherman calls for snow, the stores are crowded. People buy stables like milk, bread and eggs. Schools were out Friday due to the weather. Most businesses closed. Its a good thing the snow came on the weekend. The Christmas break for Asheville and Buncombe county schools started too. So, kids aren’t missing any school due to the weather yet. The mountains are blanketed in snow and are beautiful. So, if you don’t have to go out don’t. My daughter and her kids made a snow fort and had a snowball fight. They’ve been sledding too. The snow is a packing snow so its good for making snowmen and forts and just for playing. So, if you have kids or are a kid at heart, enjoy. Its good exercise too. The weatherman is calling for more snow on Thursday. So, I guess we’ll have a white Christmas afterall.
