the last 2 weekends we’ve gone downtown Asheville and then to the mall on Tunnel Rd. The traffic was terrible – bumper to bumper. 2 weekends ago, we went to Merrimon Ave. via Biltmore Ave instead of taking Hwy. 240. it was about 2:00pm. While waiting in traffic, I noticed a lot of people walking about town. Then this last weekend, we went to Tunnel Rd shopping about the same time. It was bumper to bumper again. It still wasn’t as bad as it will be when Christmas shopping starts. However, I dont see the deal unless the stores were having a sale or something. Or people getting a head start on holiday shopping.
