Thanksgiving day in Asheville NC, I was on my back porch when suddenly 2 deer darted out less than 20 feet away. Its rutting season and deer season. The buck was chasing the doe around a tree and disappeared beyond some more trees. I started to go to the mailbox afterward and found the buck staring at me from a nearby tree. I turned around and went back into the house. The buck then went above the house and walked down the street. I wish I had a camera. We live in the city!
