Thanksgiving holiday coming up

Posted in shopping at 8:53 am by admin

Thanksgiving is upon us. Just a few weeks away. The annual after Thanksgiving sales pre-Christmas sales will be here too. You can save big if you care to get out in the mess early. Not me. Traffic will be terrible especially on Tunnel Rd where the Asheville Mall is located. The stores will be packed too. Anyway, if you are coming here to shop and need a place to stay near the mall, see Asheville Tunnel Rd hotels.

grocery shopping

I’ve started shopping at Earth Fare in South Asheville  for my produce and meat. Buying fresh fruit any where is like playing a game of rolette. You never know if the fruit will be any good. The fruit and vegis here are the best I’ve found anywhere. Most of the time they taste sweet and are good, but just like other stores this isn’t the case always. I like buying meat here cause the meat is in a case like buying from an old fashion butcher. The meat isn’t pre-packaged so you can ask for as many pieces as you need. Its not as expensive as you think either. A pound of hamburger is about 3.00 but its good. I’ve not found any grizzle in it as I have in meat from other stores. They also have a cafe here. I buy most of my canned and freezer goods from other stores.

Black Mountain shopping

Black Mountain is located close to Asheville North Carolina. There’s retail stores, antique shops, art galleries, artisan workshops and other great places to shop. The area has a relaxed atmosphere. Its away from the mainstream of shoppers so you dont feel so rushed.

Biltmore Square Mall

Posted in shopping at 2:15 pm by admin

The other big shopping mall in Asheville is the Biltmore Square Mall located on Brevard Rd. in West Asheville. This mall isn’t as large as the Asheville Mall on Tunnel Rd. It’s not as crowded either. There’s a Belk, Dillards and Goodies here.

Biltmore Village

Posted in attractions, shopping at 7:20 pm by admin

The Biltmore village is located across from the entrance to Biltmore Estates. This village was originially built to house the workers who built the Biltmore House. Today, there are unique shops selling antiques, clothing and more things. There are also art galleries and restaurants here.
