gas prices

Posted in city at 7:05 pm by admin

I paid $2.88 a gallon for gas today. Thats a lot cheaper than a week and a half ago when I paid $3.79 a gallon or the week before that when I paid $4.19 a gallon or even the highest I ever paid a week before that at $4.75 a gallon during the gas shortage here in Asheville. I filled up for $33.00. I was pleasantly surprised. Anyway, this morning was pretty cold … frost on the pumpkin. But, it warmed up nicely. Haven’t had to turn the heat on yet. hopefully not for a while. The fall colors are starting to come out a bit more this week too. Traffic is picking up a bit too but not so bad as it usually is this time of year.

The leaves are beginnning to change color here in Asheville. The maples, poplars, dogwoods and so forth are beginning to turn shades of red, yellow, orange …. Soon the mountains of NC will be ablaze with color. The weather is rather cool in the mornings here. However, by afternoon, its been getting warm. Today, its expected to be in the 80s.

eating out for less

Posted in restaurants at 7:41 pm by admin

I like to eat out at restaurants a lot. The problem is, its too expensive and like a lot of people I just don’t have the extra money. So, I came across this deal, I’d like to share with you. You can purchase a $25 Gift Certificate for only $2!!! but Its only good till tomorrow at noon. Here’s how it works: for example, you buy 3 - $25.00 gift certificates for $30 - its apart of their dinner of the month club - you can purchase other packages too.

36-Hour 80% off Savings on Dinner of the Month Club Purchase. Use code EIGHTY. Valid 12:00am CDT 10/14/08 thru 12:00pm CDT 10/15/08.

Anyway, I’ve looked over the restaurant website above. They have quite a lot of nice restaurants in the Asheville area participating. Even if you don’t catch the sale above, you can buy a $25 gift certificate here for 10 dollars so you still save money. This is an outstanding deal.
