asheville weather today

Posted in weather at 1:44 pm by admin

It snowed early this morning here in Asheville NC. It was a bit of a shock to your system even though this is normal here in the mountains for the weather to shift so drastically. The weather girl was predicting a winter storm. Yesterday afternoon after the rain, it was so pretty out. The temperature was in the 60’s. The sun was out and it was warm without the wind blowing. You could go outside without a jacket or at least wear a light sweater. Today, the snow is still dusting my porch. The dogs latch to their tie out lease was frozen. The roads must have had some ice cause schools were closed.

asheville weather today

Posted in weather at 9:14 pm by admin

Todays weather in the NC mountains was very warm, quite nice in fact. It started out a bit cold, 35 degrees this morning. The wind wasn’t blowing so it wasn’t too bad. We walked to the bus stop instead of driving. It was about 60 degrees by afternoon. Warm enough to go without a jacket or at least a light sweater. However, like always we will pay for all this nice weather. The weather girl said there will be a winter storm watch in effect over the next few days. Hope they miss it.

unca asheville mid-terms

Posted in unca at 9:09 pm by admin

Its that time of year again when everyone at the college is studying for the mid-term exams. I had one take home exam. I spent 4 days compiling, organizing and writing the answers to those questions. I’d much rather of had an in-class test. It would have only taken about an hour to do. I still have another class to study for this week. Next week is spring break but it will be no break for me. I have to start 2 research papers and a book review.

Waynesville is a small town outside of Asheville NC. Its located in Haywood county. You might be able to find inexpensive real estate here at least a lot cheaper than in the Asheville city limits. anyway, the main attraction here is the Musuem of North Carolina Handicrafts. Its located at 49 Shelton St. The exhibit includes crafts, wood carvings, pottery, jewelry, Cherokee and other native american artifacts. The house that is the museum is also a historic building.

cold

Posted in weather at 9:05 am by admin

It was 20 degrees this morning here in the NC mountains. The wind chill factor was 9 degrees. I drove my grandchild to the bus stop so we wouldn’t have to stand out in the cold weather. Several nearby counties had school delays and closings. It snowed yesterday afternoon a little bit. The temperature yesterday was 28 degrees around 4:00pm. Its just darn cold.
