If you like to go mountain biking, then the area around Asheville is perfect. Linville Gorge near Marion is about a 45 minute drive from Asheville. Here you will find some pretty strenuous mountain biking trails that range from 8 miles to 49 miles long. The scenery is beautiful here. At Fontana Lake, which is west of Asheville near Bryson City, there are 39 miles of trails along the shore of the lake.
There are several places you can golf here in Asheville NC. The Asheville Municipal golf course is located at 206 Fairway dr. The Grove Park Inn Resort and the Crowne Plaza resort are more upscale. There are more places in and around. Lake Lure has a beautiful golf resort and its about a 45 minute drive from Asheville. If you are visiting, look in the yellow pages of the local phone book it has a more complete list. If you are driving around town, be careful when you get around golf courses. I once had my windshield of my car cracked when a stray golf ball hit.
the women’s basketball team at UNC Asheville will play tomorrow afternoon. Tip-off is at 1 p.m. The Bulldogs are hosting Coastal Carolina in the Big South Conference. The game will be televised by FoxSportSouth.
Its 31 degrees here in the NC mountains this morning. The wind chill factor is 20 degrees. The bed was warm and comfortable this morning, it was hard to get up. Its suppose to get up to 40 degrees but that still cold when the wind blows. So, bundle up if your going out today. It will be cold tonight too.
