Its been hot this week. Broke records for the season. Today, it cooled off. Tempertures were just very comfortable outside. However, inside was quite warm. Had to open the windows. They say the leaves haven’t changed because of the heat. Some spots are turning yellow and orange. its still pretty much green around Asheville Asheville though. Anyway, the leaves will change colors pretty quickly when they do. Most of the time, the fall colors are over by Halloween. And, the leaves always change sooner in the higher elevations up on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I’ll try to get up there this weekend and find out.

Leaves report

The leaves are just starting to change colors around town. Nothing spectacular yet to report. The weather is clear today. I walked with my dogs to the small lake that we have in the neighborhood. It was just another beautiful day here in the NC Mountains.

Inspirations Fall Color festival

The Inspirations Fall Color Festival will be held in Bryson City at Inspirations Park on October 12th-13th. Bryson city is a short drive from Asheville. There will be Gospel music from well known groups. For lodging see, Bryson City Hotels.

Fall Craft Fair of the southern highlands

The 60th fall craft fair of the souther highlands will be held at the Asheville Civic Center on October 18th-21st. This fair features original crafts created by memebers of the Southern Highland Craft Guild. For nearby lodging, see Asheville NC Downtown Hotels.
