The NC mountain state fair will be held September 7th - the 16th in Fletcher at the WNC Ag Center which is near the Asheville Airport. There will be lots of entertainment, food, crafts and animals. Come ride the rides.
The New Morning Gallery is located in the Biltmore Village which is across from the entrance to Biltmore Estates in Asheville. It is known as one of the nation’s top destination for fine crafts. You will find handmade furniture, garden sculpture, home accessories, jewelry, art glass, pottery and more unique items. The gallery has been in business for close to 35 years, so they’ve stood the test of time.
I’ve started shopping at Earth Fare in South Asheville for my produce and meat. Buying fresh fruit any where is like playing a game of rolette. You never know if the fruit will be any good. The fruit and vegis here are the best I’ve found anywhere. Most of the time they taste sweet and are good, but just like other stores this isn’t the case always. I like buying meat here cause the meat is in a case like buying from an old fashion butcher. The meat isn’t pre-packaged so you can ask for as many pieces as you need. Its not as expensive as you think either. A pound of hamburger is about 3.00 but its good. I’ve not found any grizzle in it as I have in meat from other stores. They also have a cafe here. I buy most of my canned and freezer goods from other stores.
Black Mountain is located close to Asheville North Carolina. There’s retail stores, antique shops, art galleries, artisan workshops and other great places to shop. The area has a relaxed atmosphere. Its away from the mainstream of shoppers so you dont feel so rushed.
Its a beautiful day today in Asheville. I drove on I-40 from Fairview over to South Asheville. It was a bit hectic trying to get on I-40. Traffic was moderate but no one would let me in. Fortunately, the entrance ramp extends well beyond the exit ramp or I would have had to stop. Anyway, the temperture was 88 degrees at noon according to my car. Its hot, I know that. I sprayed my weeds with round up yesterday. Some of the weeds were as tall as I am. I will probably have to spray them again, they dont look like they are dying yet. I have totally neglected my yard this year due to the heat and the fact that I ran out of round-up and kept forgetting to get some at the store. I dont have much yard so I mulched it all so I dont have to mow or pay someone to mow.
