Bears in neighborhood
The 2 bears that visited my backyard the other day didn’t return that I know of. They may have come back after dark. I did get a neighborhood newsletter that said that there have been numerous sightings of bears in the neighborhood. This is what it said to do:
- Isolate potential food sources from the bears
- Do not ever fed the bears
- Do not leave grills outside
- Put all bird feeders inside for the season
- Do not let dogs run loose.
- Make sure yard is clear before taking pets out
- Keep garage doors closed
- Remember that bear are good climbers and can easily climb decks without steps
- When walking in neighborhood make plenty of noise so a bear is not surprised.
- If your encounter a bear, do not run. Slowly move away from the bear
