ramps
The annual ramp festival is held this year on May 6th in Waynesville which is west of Asheville. Ramps are very similar to onions only they are stronger. My ex-husband use to like to eat ramps. I didn’t. He’d cook them in scrambled eggs or eat them raw. They stink. The worse part of it is, the odor comes out of the pores of the skin. After my ex-husband ate ramps, I always slept in the other room cause I couldn’t stand the smell. I know of a lot of people who love eating ramps. They say if you eat ramps you wont smell them on others just like garlic and onions.
