wasps, bees, hornets
Every spring the battle begins the wasps, yellowjackets and hornets vs. me. I arm myself with the wasp spray. Any spray will do. The wasps build their nests under my stairs and deck. I spray them when I notice them. I took down my shutters so the wasps could not build there. Last year, I had a yellow jacket nest under my central air conditioner unit outside. What was strange is, the service man was able to service it, spray a few bees and told me that bees did not bother him. He didn’t get stung. I tried to spray them, but I could not get a good shot. The spray went over the nest. Someone said to use gas, I said not there. It would burn my house down. so, I went to get some seven dust from Walmart so I could bury the yellowjackets under it. The clerk at Walmart told me to try bleach. I cut some hose and attached a funnel to it. Then I put the hose in the hole under the air conditioner and poured the bleach in. It took care of the problem. I’ve been told that yellowjackets dont rebuild a nest in the same place. So, hopefully I dont have another nest in this location again.
