Location
Asheville is located in the Western mountains of North Carolina. It is close to both the Tennessee and South Carolina borders. The city is in the Blue Ridge Mountains and has 4 entrances to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

- Visit Biltmore House at Christmas time for an old-fashioned Christmas.
- The Biltmore House and Estate is finely decorated every Christmas. Candlelight tours available
- Spring brings beautiful blooms in Biltmore House Garden and is well worth the trip.

Day trips to the NC Mountains
- Blue Ridge Parkway
- Beautiful mountain views, escape the hustle and bustle of the city, experience the cool breezes from mountain tops. Expect slower traffic in the fall. Make room reservations early as Fall is the busiest season.
- Craggy Gardens
- In the June and early July, the Mountain Laurel and Rhododendron blanket the area. Beautiful and Breathtaking.
- Fall brings lots of beautiful colors as the leaves turn.
- Smokey Mountain National Park
- Take I-40 west to US 19 then get on US 441 to the southern entrance of the park in Cherokee.

- The Cataloochee Ski Area is near Maggie Valley North Carolina which is 30 minutes from Asheville.

Climate
- Around 17 inches of snow fall on Ashevill annually, along with fifty-five inches of rain.
- In January, average daytime temperatures are in the low forties.
- June, average daytime highs - low seventies.
- February is the coldest month, July is the hottest.
- It rains in April and is sometimes cool in summer after the sun goes down
- In the mountains temperatures are 10 to 20 degrees cooler than the city.
