Photos of Asheville were taken in and around town and surrounding area
There are two places here in the North Carolina mountains worth noting. When the sun rises, the sun rays bouncing off the clouds and mountains produce a surrealistic scene reminiscent of ocean waves; real but surreal. One view is off I-40 East on Old Fort Mountain. The other view is on I-26 East near Saluda. There is no pull out and no where to stop. These two scenes will come to mind when ever I think of the mountains of North Carolina.

I went up on the blue ridge parkway one rainy day. I went high enough in the mountains to get above the clouds. The view and the affects the clouds and mountains produced together was spectacular. The clouds bouncing around in the valleys and mountain peaks produced unique scenes again similar to ocean waves. Within a matter of seconds, the clouds changed shapes. I watch in awe as the clouds shifted and transformed from one magnificent view to another. There is no words to describe the beauty of the mountains rain or shine.
